ORIGIN STORY

Nerd HQ hosted its inaugural event at San Diego Comic Con in 2011 where it welcomed creators, actors, conversations for a cause and unique activations all benefiting Operation Smile. For several years we engaged with fans coming to San Diego from across the country to meet celebrities and participate in charitable efforts. We were grateful to bring a community of nerds together over the many years of Nerd HQ at Comic Con, a true labor of love. It was no easy decision to bring this event to a halt in 2017, but we knew we wouldn’t be gone completely. Because of our numerous one of a kind experiences we knew it was only a matter of time before we re-defined Nerd HQ and brought it back to life in a bright, new way.

We are committed to empowering individuals by building and strengthening a community, by curating edutainment activations through science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics (STEAM), and by providing means to therapy if they are unable to afford it.

OUR VISION & PURPOSE

Our vision is to develop a vibrant community that provides and engages in entertainment, education, and creates connections with a core focus on mental health.

Our purpose is to foster a supportive community for individuals navigating the complexities of mental health challenges daily through our commitment to curating a community of healthy minds through ways of science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics. Ultimately, providing the means to free therapy for those who can’t afford it!

You may know him for landing larger than life acting roles, but there is so much more to Zachary Levi than what meets the eye. He grew up all over the country before his family put down roots in Ventura County, California. He knew at the ripe age of six that his passions were acting, singing and dancing.

His perseverance paid off as he’s now known for his work in "Chuck" and "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel," as well as films like "Shazam!” "American Underdog,” and the up and coming β€œHarold and the Purple Crayon.”

You can also add author to his title as he more recently wrote a book called Radical Love: Learning to Accept Yourself and Others, where he dives into his own life story to shine a light on the importance of mental health. He highlights his personal journey of how he went from suicidal to superhero.

A true champion of mental wellness, Zac is committed to helping others who deal with the challenges that life presents, bringing people back to the center of health and happiness.
